Default Gym Moments that Make you want to SCREAM!!

I was hoping people could post some of the most annoying, ridiculous, embarassing things they have encountered while working out in Gyms. I was inspired to start this thread after a particularly annoying incident that I shall relay below:

<-------------THE STORY------------->

It was about two weeks ago and I was in my local Bally's fitness center. Now I had recently switched from 24-hour fitness to Bally's, due to pricing. While neither gym is what I would call a weightlifters gym they serve there purpose.

I was working my legs that day and due to how the gym is setup up the power racks are right next to the dumbbells and flat/inclineable benches. Anyhow I always watch people when I workout, between sets that is, kind of size up the atmosphere etc. Anyway today I had noticed two guys, one was about 35 and semi lean but all of 155, the other was probably 45 and roughly 170 with the "skinny-fat" look going on. I had seen the younger guy before, he was one of thos guys that thought he knew everything about weightlifting cause he had a six pack. One thing I want to point out is that its pretty easy to achieve a 6-pack when your 155. Moving forward.

I was watching them between my sets of squats. I noticed they were doing dumbbell chest presses with 30 lb dumbbells. As I was watching I heard the skinny guy say to the less skinny guy "Alright man, Now that we've dont 20 its time to do 32, see were going for strength here buddy!";

I could not believe my ears "We are lifting for strength here by doing 32 reps with 30 lbs..." I wanted to cry.

<!------------------End Story----------------------------->

Now this is just one of many many examples I have. However before I go posting more lets here your sob stories guys.

People that drop the weights instead of just setting them down.

Skinny people that get in the way. I understand that everybody has to start somewhere but atleast do something.

People that talk way to loud and are trying to act like stereotypical meatheads.

There is this one guy at the gym, he looks like he weighs about 180, not very muscular. But everyone knows when he's at the gym, because he shouts through every rep. Okay so I was there at the gym doing some bench press, and this guy comes to the bench beside me,( first time hearing him) he only does 135 on the bench, but every rep he makes it sound like he's dieing. It is one thing to act like that on your last rep, of a very strenuous set, but he does it on every freaking rep, for 15 repetitions! anyway that guy is clearly a wimp, and every time I see him I just cant help my self from laughing.

Too many to pick just one or two. These days going to the gym is almost like watching a sitcom.

You'd hate me then DLTH lol. It's kinda hard to put something down that weights over 100lbs lightly and without making some kind of noise.
I do not do this for attention or to look like a dick. It just happens to be the way things happen in the moment. Like drop sets on a leg press or something I throw em off and get back under the sled as fast as I can. I wouldn't throw or drop like a dumbbell after doing curls or something like that tho, then I will place them back without commotion. But, sometimes it's just necessary. When you let 500lbs go on a deadlift you can sure hear it.

Sorry I should have clarified that. People that throw down 30lb dumbbells as if they weighed 100lbs. It's understandable when they are that heavy.

I am now at Planet Fitness so every day is such a fucking joke!
I where a big t-shirt, I-pod and hat pulled down low. Do my shit and look at no one.

so I went to this same gym 2 years ago and it is so funny to see all the familiar faces. Every one is the same! either still fat, still skinny, just the same! I swear they have no goals and just do the exact same workout with the same amount of weight. I would never find the motivation if that were me. So a few guys have come up to me and been like " hey I remember you, you look much bigger!" so I say well do you still eat the same amount of food you did 2 yrs ago? Are you any stronger? Do you ever keep a log book?
